Few exciting letters in the post will probably mean sleepless nights around here, especially the one we received at our Papamoa beach studio from the Waikato Museum, NZ, today...
"Art installation: ALL YOU WHO SLEEP TONIGHT by Artists: Lipika Sen and Prabhjyot Majithia has been selected as a finalist for the National 2014 Fieldays N0.8 Wire Art Award."
About the award: Held annually around the Fieldays event, the No. 8 Wire National Art Award challenges artists to create artworks using predominantly No. 8 Wire, an iconic Kiwi agricultural product. This award has become renowned for the ingenious and unique entries it attracts. These awards have become a highlight on the national art calendar, offering something unique for artists to turn their hand to. The awards draw on an iconic farm product and translate this through talent and ingenuity into an art form.
The winners will be announced by judge Greer Twiss at the opening of the exhibition and award presentation at Waikato Museum, Arts Post Galleries on Thursday 5 June from 5.30pm
You are invited to view the exhibition at Arts Post Galleries, 120 Victoria Street, Hamilton from Friday 6 June until Monday 7 July 2014.
